The Tape Saga

Picture this: BZ standing, hunched over, both hands clutching a cardboard box. Across him, sister is sitting with a roll of brown masking tape with the end of it taped to the box. BZ, sweating, starts rolling, rotating said box, guiding the tape (aqwse - I'm keeping this in because Mr Cat 2 walked across my keyboard and contributed this beautiful word) over the box. The mission? Taping the ENTIRE box up. My sister needs to courier an air filter to the city she lives in. BZ is rolling the box in what he called a Flow State. The sound of the tape is spooking Mr Cat 1. They are locked in. BZ turns the box and the tape unravels, held firmly by sister.

I actually don't think I am literarily skilled enough to detail this situation I have asked you to picture.

Writing this a few days later. That evening, my best friend N, her hinge-date-turned-friend (but also schoolmates that didn't know each other), my sister and her friend, and BZ and I all ordered some KFC and played a game about nouns. I was so quiet in the beginning, just watching and listening, nursing a beer. It was nice, I am normally not quiet. Eventually though, the game called forth in me a wild beast as games usually do. Just kidding, we only won by two points.

Ha! I forgot we played girls vs boys at first, but it was so unbelievably easy for us, we pretty much won the entire thing in game's first round (of three). So halfway through, we decided to level the playing field.

N stayed over. We watched Severance, turned on the AC and turned off the lights. The next morning, N got ready to go meet a friend. She had a shower and washed her reddish-brown hair. She borrowed some sunscreen and makeup. I just watched her get ready as she played music on her phone. So delicately applying the cream and eyeshadow. She's older than me by a year and I rarely (basically never) feel the difference. But I did that day. I loved watching her get ready. She put on my shirt and headed out.

It's now 4 days later. A lifetime later. Ryan approved my extension so the world is different in my eyes. I'll write about it soon. Right now, I've got an egg and a birthday boy (happy birthday BZ!!) to attend to.
